In September 1988, the Respite Shelter for Homeless Men took this city’s first steps in addressing the need for post-hospital recuperation for the homeless. The Shelter has been in continuous operation since September, 1988 and was incorporated as an Arizona non-profit charitable corporation on July 20, 1992.
What speaks clearly is the Shelter’s proven track record in making it possible for our program participants to make dramatic improvements in their life situation. Many leave with homes, jobs and a strong support group of people who continue to care and provide assistance. This is one of the factors which make the Shelter truly unique.
